POLISH FOR FOREIGNERS
KONTAKT Language Center runs Polish Language courses on all levels of advancement for individual students. The classes are held in the head office of the school, in the centre of Poznań (Plac Bernardyński 1a/1). The course may start in any moment during the academic year, the schedule is agreed upon with the student. The courses are held by qualified teachers who have knowledge of foreign languages, e.g. English or German, which makes classroom communication far more effective in the case of beginners.
The main objective of the classes is to overcome the language barrier and enable the student to function at ease in a Polish speaking environment – both on a social and professional level. The programme highlights listening comprehension and speaking skills. The student gathers everyday life vocabulary and prepares to perform in standard language contexts (e.g. shopping, asking directions, collecting information at a railway station or a hotel, an interview for a job). Depending on the student’s needs, some classes can be held outside the classroom, e.g. in a coffee bar, a shop, or other public places; the most natural communicative conditions.
The prices of individual courses start from 86 PLN for 45 minutes. Particular costs of courses always depend on the number of classes, their time and place. The classes between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. are always cheaper than in the afternoon and in the evening.
We also offer Skype or Zoom Courses. This way of holding classes grows more and more popular especially among busy people valuing their time highly.
The listeners who choose a Skype or Zoom Course in Kontakt can learn English at home or at work, not taking commuting into account, wherever they live or travel at the moment. Business trips do not result in canceling classes, so the lessons can be regular. This teaching method proves effective on any level.
A syllabus for Skype or Zoom Courses does not differ significantly from traditional courses. The classes can be based on a handbook and all the extra materials as well as homework are sent to the student by e-mail or Google Classroom. The teacher can also suggest original texts or articles in advance, so that the student can get familiar with the materials and extra tasks.
Technicalities: Just a laptop or desktop computer with an audio card, headphones and a mic is required for a Skype or Zoom Course plus obviously an Internet access.
